‘Beat Around the Rhythm’ represents an image of the Cerne Abbas giant a well known piece of land art. This fertility symbol is over laid with an engraving image of an eighteenth century drum with text referring to death and the earth. The cross hatching of the image being enlarged and distorted in contrasting vivid colours gives rise to a visual rhythm.
