Micky Bliss - 2012
Micky Bliss is a sound installation consisting of laughter building in intensity to a crescendo. Multiple speakers are hidden in the stair well entrance and gallery making the work invisible. This time the work was integrated into the bar and refreshments area adding a feasting or celebratory aspect to the piece. The laughter is looped and provides a naturalistic sound track to the space allowing the listener to join in and laugh along until the realisation that the laughing may not be with them but could be at them? The crescendo becomes quite intense adding to this unnerving and potentially manic situation almost becoming uncomfortable and then starts again.
